First read my blog, posted simultaneously with this one it seems on SAFE, LEGAL AND RARE.
Then, please tell me why the Texas law is WRONG. Keep the negative comments on the LAW as written and not some concern of letiing conservatives “get their foot in the door for future laws”. We can argue future legislation when it is proposed. Frankly, as a pro-choice guy, politically, I see nothing of real substance wrong with the Texas law that keeps abortion legal and does a lot to promote improved safety in such a surgical procedure.

/ July 14, 2013@anson You say you are a pro-choice guy, but you don’t see anything wrong with eliminating 80 percent of the existing clinics? It’s okay with you also that the five remaining clinics will be presided over by the Texas governors sister? Do you think she is pro-choice?
Well over eighty percent of voters are pro-choice. That is what is WRONG.

/ July 15, 2013The most troubling thing about the conservative movement at work is that they don’t find a measure satisfactory unless it causes harm. They’ll do so even if their preferred measure is more expensive — for example, granting easy access to birth control is cheaper than putting a child on welfare for 18 years (to say nothing of abortions). In fact, it has become a reflex among conservatives that they don’t find a measure satisfying unless it hurts someone.
Is there a word for that, when your natural inclination has become to cause needless harm?
