‘Nuff Said About Benghazi?

From the Associated Press:

A two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, and asserted no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees. 

Debunking a series of persistent allegations hinting at dark conspiracies, the investigation of the politically charged incident determined that there was no intelligence failure, no delay in sending a CIA rescue team, no missed opportunity for a military rescue, and no evidence the CIA was covertly shipping arms from Libya to Syria.

“No wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees.” “Debunking a series of persistent allegations hinting at dark conspiracies.” “No, no, no.”

How telling is this:

The House Intelligence Committee report was released with little fanfare on the Friday before Thanksgiving week.

After all the hysterics, after all the accusations, after all those “dark conspiracies,” the Benghazi “conspiracy” dies with a gobble-gobble.

That’s it? Don’t bet on it:

The eighth Benghazi investigation is being carried out by a House Select Committee appointed in May.

    Let’s face it; there will NEVER be enough investigations into Benghazi until one finds this President somehow culpable.
    That’s because it’s NOT about Benghazi, it’s about getting Obama.
    This GOP group will not be spoken of kindly in history.

    Well guys, there was a bright side to Benghazi. Investigating it provided needed relief from the tedium of seeking flaws in ObamaCare and voting to repeal it. That could get really dull without some distraction, the only other break being going on vacation. 🙂

    By the way, Duane, I know you don’t get the Joplin Globe anymore, so I thought you’d like to know that it did print the AP article on the Benghazi report. It was discretely tucked up in one corner of the back page of section A.

    I will now no longer “rant” over Benghazi. But be very careful to note the words used. The Obama administration did nothing wrong is the implication, actually the words chosen. I suspect however that it means LEGALLY wrong.

    I continue to believe that the entire NCA exercised very poor judgment, starting at the top with the president. But failure to exercise good judgment is not a matter of law unless criminal negligence is alleged, which I have never so alleged. It is a political judgment on my part and I vote based on that view, not some legal rational..

    I am rather certain the House Select Committee, dominated by GOPers WILL show that the CIA deemed the attack as one caused by terrorists, not just citizens watching a video and suddenly deciding to go kill 4 Americans. To me the administrations SPIN on Behghazi, within 24 hours of the attack was just that, pure political spin in a presidential election campaign.

    “You can keep your plan”, “the video caused the attack”, “what I am doing is legal” are a whole set of “spins”, not the whole truth as known at the time of such statements.

    You, all herein, trust this president and deeply distrust the entire GOP. I don’t trust any of the bastards today and THAT is an increasingly dangerous problem in America today. Both Congress and the President do not have the trust of the majority of Americans today based on polling.

    No way will unilateral action by either party restore trust in the majority of Americans. When Dems gained both Houses in Congress and the WH I read, repeatedly that elections make a difference. Well we just had another election in 2014 and all I continue to hear is “my way or the highway” from both sides of the aisle.

    Now we the people will just have to sit back and pray for something different in 2016, unless someone, somewhere really starts to lead by gaining bipartisan support for various actions. Right now we have the same chance of such as the proverbial snowball in Hell, it seems to me.

    I have said it before and say again. When Duane and I can find room for agreement on particular issues, a compromise on both our parts, then and only then can we hope for a better America, a bipartisan approach to many things, and stop this attack, attack, attack crap seen since the day the world turned, 9/11/2001.
