The Dopey Leading The Dope

For years now, I have accused Fox & Friends, the morning show Tr-mp loves, of being an IQ-murdering, brain-baking embarrassment to American life. Yesterday, Vox pubished a piece (“We analyzed 17 months of Fox & Friends transcripts. It’s far weirder than state-run media.“) with the sub-header: “How the Fox morning show evolved into Donald Tr-mp’s posse.” Yes, the unprosecuted p-ssy prodder has a posse:

What we found is that Fox & Friends has a symbiotic relationship with Trump that is far weirder and more interesting than state media. Instead of talking for Trump, they are talking to him.

Naturally, the juvenility that defines Fox & Friends appeals to the lazy, uninformed teenager in the White’s House. And the hosts take advantage of his interest in the anti-intelligence programming they offer—and his pathologically abbreviated attention span—in order to give him advice. And, sadly for the country, the man who has to essentially have coloring book intelligence briefings frequently listens.

If you’ve ever spent 30 minutes with Fox & Friends (may a couple of your IQ points Rest in Peace, by the way), then the idea that these simpletons are giving advice to Agent Orange and that Agent Orange heeds some of it, should make you very restless at night. Every night. Because the next morning—seven days a week—brings another episode of Fox & Friends.

The good news is that when Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, and Ainsley Earhardt get on the air and publicly tell Tr-mp how to handle North Korea, at least we’ll have a few minutes lag time to get in our bomb shelters. Or if, like me, you don’t have one of those, to pick up a 30-pack or your medication of choice.

  1. Fox programming is like weeds. It plays prominently at the Joplin YMCA. There is no MSNBC. Requests for change are refused because “the channels are those most popular in this area.” The stuff is also prevalent in medical waiting rooms and car dealerships. Even cruise ships. Weeds. No, wait, poison ivy.

    • I  was a member for a while of the Y. I went to the South facility. There, Fox, CNN, and occasionally MSNBC would be on. When I say “occasionally,” I mean almost never. I don’t know what it is like now at the Y, but I have noticed that at Freeman hospital it has been a while since a waiting room has had Fox on. If it is on when I’m there, I usually turn it myself or complain.

As far as Fox “News” programming, I consider it combination of shit and darkness, which helps the mushrooms known as Fox viewers grow.

    Duane,

Ever since well before Nov 8, 2016 you have focused on all of Trump’s weaknesses, monumental weaknesses to be sure. As well you have fully supported the Dem candidate chosen to oppose Trump and the full GOP. My participation has been “yes, buts” to a degree but not full blown support of Trump, to be sure.

From reading WaPost I see a new entity in Dem politics, a group called New Democracy which is reportedly a newly formed group of “centrist” democrats. According to the WaPost they are trying to keep the mainstream democrat party out of the hands of the likes of Bernie, Warren, etc. I don’t know yet the details of what they espouse however.

You wrote one blog several months ago trying to enunciate how the Dem Party should blend the far Left and center. You were rather strongly opposed by some strong, leftist readers.

I for one would like to read herein other attempts to form a democrat party consensus on current huge issues. HC and North Korea are two big ones, along with tax reform as well. It is easy to predict where “Bernie will stand” on such matters and in my view those positions would be a terrible set of choices, as terrible as Trumps rants.

I wonder if you, Duane, can articulate other choices for America, different choices than “Bernie (et al)” would make. Is it possible in your own party for a center to form and prevail. Certainly the GOP center has failed to keep the Tea Party, alt right, etc. held at bay.

By the way I see now that after spending $16 Billion to keep water out of New Orleans post Katrina, major flooding happened therein after a large rainstorm!!! As well after feds paid the $16 Billion they now plan to turn it all over to city and state to maintain and operate it, which they don’t have the money to do. As oceans rise and other cities spend “$16 Billion” to pump out the rising waters, ……….? What is the Democrat Party solution, other than ranting against the GOP, to keep “New Orleans dry”????

With every iota of respect that it is actually possible for you to be due, there is no “Democrat Party” solution, because the “Democrat Party” doesn’t exist, you actual stack of zebra asses. Until you learn to call the Democratic Party by its right name, and to empty your head of all the literal shit that has been poured into it by Fox so-called News, Rush Limbaugh, the Republican Party, and other wholly-owned and -operated subsidiaries of the right-wing noise machine, no actual dialogue between you and thinking people is possible. Feel free to make your irritable mental gestures, but please don’t expect me to pretend we can have a meaningful conversation about the issues when we’re using two different sets of facts.

    • Also, I noticed that you didn’t actually offer a counter-argument to Duane’s points. All you did was deflect so furiously that I expected LeVar Burton to show up with an Alice band over his eyes and say he needed to draw more power from the warp core. Concern troll is concerned. Either that or concern troll has recently been beaten about the head and shoulders with a recoilless baseball bat and is still recovering such advanced brain functions as color vision and bowel control.
